Welcome and Announcements
We welcome everyone to our worship service
this morning. May you be blessed as we worship together before our God.
Quiet Preparation for Worship:
"I find that it is better to
love badly and faultily than not to try and love at all. God does not expect us
to be perfect instruments."
(Morton Kelsey)
Responsive Call to Worship:
(Based on
Psalm 92)
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to
God's name;
Let us declare our steadfast love to God this
morning with music, song and words;
For God has made us glad through his words and actions and love;
How great are God's works!
Opening Hymn:
#552 - Plenty Of
Room In The Family
Invocation and The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in
Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy
will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day
our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead
us not into temptation but deliver us from evil; for Thine is the Kingdom and
the Power and the Glory forever. Amen.

Scripture
Reading:
Matthew
18:1-5, 20 (NIV)
At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" He called a child, whom he put among them, and said, "Truly I tell you, unless you
change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of
heaven. Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me... For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."
Sermon: "Two or three!!?? That's it?"
Closing

Announcements
Rev. Karina is on vacation until tomorrow. If you need anything before then, please reach out to any member of Council and we will do our best to help you out, find a visiting minister, add you to the
prayer list, or whatever may be needed.
Due to Rev. Karina's vacation, we have postponed the August Council Meeting until next week, Monday, August 25th.
Please feel free to speak to any Council
member if you have questions or input about anything related to the church! One
of the beautiful things about First Baptist is that we are a community where
everyone has a voice. We always welcome your thoughts!

Did you know that we have an email prayer
list? If you have a prayer concern, particularly during the week when were not
all gathered for worship, you can send it in an email to Linda or to the church email address at firstbaptistchelmsford@gmail.com and we will share it with the prayer list.
